Google DeepMind and GovTechSG are building on-device fraud detection with Gemma

Google DeepMind says it is working with Singapore’s GovTechSG to build on-device fraud detection using its open model Gemma. It says fine-tuning the model on local scam tactics will help it identify threats in real time without compromising personal privacy. Google DeepMind also says over half of reported crimes in Singapore use sophisticated social engineering.
