Claude designs an elliptic-curve circuit with 17x fewer gates than a previous design

Anthropic says Claude Mythos 5 worked on eight quantum-circuit tasks with a program that checked correctness and scored designs on qubit and gate costs. One elliptic-curve design used 17x fewer gates but 12% more qubits than the smallest previous design; a separate decoder design used 12x fewer gates than Google’s prior version. The 53-hour elliptic-curve run began with a human brief and included occasional prompts to broaden the search.
