A San Francisco Victorian listed for $2.995 million accepts pre-IPO OpenAI and Anthropic equity as payment
The option targets AI sector employees holding illiquid shares
@Yuchenj_UW Arbitrage opportunity:
buy a few houses for cash and flip them for equity?
$3M Zillow listing in SF: “Anthropic or OpenAI stock will be considered as payments.” Forget cash buyers. The final boss of SF real estate is a 28-year-old MTS offering pre-AGI equity.
AI is coming into every strange corner of our life. 👀
A $2.95M San Francisco home is now taking OpenAI or Anthropic stock as payment, turning private AI shares into a housing currency.
The deal exposes a strange AI boom problem: many employees may look rich on paper, but their wealth sits inside illiquid stock that cannot easily be sold before an IPO or tender sale.
Listing agent Rachel Swann says interest surged within 24 hours of the offer going live. The seller, she says, is a local luxury developer who strongly supports Anthropic and OpenAI, and the idea came from repeated encounters with employees and investors who want homes but cannot yet access wealth in illiquid shares.
Swann says many buyers at open houses say their stock is still out of reach, even though they want to purchase property. She expects offers for the Duboce Triangle house next week.
