@omooretweets it’s actually a local on device model, which might not be great tbh. will test it.

@signulll Yeah but you need a year old apple product, from a company that famously has people rocking 3-5 year old devices. I'm sure those startups will be fine.

@signulll I’m royally unhappy if the improved voice dictation does not come to my iPhone 16 pro max. I literally primarily purchased that phone specifically to get better voice dictation. If these fuckers make it so I can’t have that. I’m I’m so mad so fucking mad.

@itsobinnasworld yes of course however a large portion of customers for these startups tend to be power users who use latest devices.

@signulll curious to see what adoption of the dictation on watch will look like, even with the improvements. talking into a watch just feels odd to do no matter how you shake it

@signulll Do existing apps using Apple’s models automatically get updated or is it something we have to do

@signulll Apple's native dictation finally getting competitive is a big shift

Voice startups built on accuracy alone now have a much harder path

@signulll the risk of being a feature upskill in an incumbent ecosystem

@signulll not only this.

because siri is system-wide, it can become the beginning of the end for claude cowork.
