Google DeepMind and partners release 10-meter map of forest types

Google DeepMind says it released Forest Typology (ForTy) 2020 with Google Research, the World Resources Institute and IIASA. The global map classifies land at 10-meter resolution, distinguishing natural forests from plantations and tree crops. An early-release annual time series tracks changes from 2017 to 2025. Both are freely available on Google Earth Engine.
