People love to write/talk/post about Elon getting things wrong all day long. His biggest achievements look obvious in hindsight yet are rarely matched by contemporaries. xAI's rapid hardware build out is one of them.

People don't understand that SpaceX engines will become gas turbines, Tesla battery packs smooth out power supply, and Starlink provides a perfect backbone network for data transfer.

Elon is hard to beat when it comes to any major buildouts in the physical world.

@beffjezos SpaceX engine are low temperature turbines. That's nothing like gas/jet where the only Carnot winning is high temperature

@beffjezos All of Elon's companies are ultimately one company, and that company will become the "Everything App" of planet Earth.

@TobyPhln Ask them to fix just one of the mistakes they claim to see, and their inability will show. Appreciating others' achievements takes a pure and fair heart; finding faults only takes being human.

@TobyPhln gotta double check but I think Google invested 900 million in space x in 2015 and Google probably would be at 111 usd billion on paper next week. I’m wondering why they investing that much? Did they run out of compute? Hmmm

@TobyPhln Elon is the only one that has consistently pulled out these awesome move that looks so obvious in retrospect.

Why would anyone ever doubt the guy?

@TobyPhln people forget that elon's successes aren't just about predicting the future, but also about being willing to bet big on untested tech before others are comfortable enough to join him

Indeed Colossus 1 became almost redundant after Collosus 2 came online, then they went on to create Collosus 3 - Macrohard and with the built in client isolation of the last few generations of NVDA chips it's easy to share the infrastructure without disturbing your environment, just don't run demanding (or any) jobs to give the client full usage.

@beffjezos It's like the Tesla battery failure. Can they make batteries? Yeah, are they better than competition? No. Just buy the fricking gas turbine from a company that has been doing it for 50 years

@beffjezos All the talk about power semis 800v to rack when Tesla megapacks already take 13.8kv grid power and charge at 800v. The just delete the 480vac inverters.

@beffjezos First principles leads to vertical integration.

Vertical integration leads to stack stacking. Stack stacking leads to absurd advantages

@beffjezos Endlessly amazed by the criticism from people who've never done so much as rewire an outlet.

I think the chasm of complexity is so wide that they just can't understand what they don't understand.
