Google Gemini links advanced features and chat history access to an activity setting that shares user data for AI model training
Users note OpenAI and Anthropic provide equivalents without this requirement
I couldn't get around it. I turned my data sharing off, which also meant I can no longer access my own chats.
Only way is to use enterprises Gmail account. But then you can't use Chrome's Gemini feature (right panel in Chrome) if that is your main chrome profile.
So I switched to Atlas, the only browser that has all the things I need. Chrome multi-profiles in the order I want, and codex in the right panel.
Why do all the interesting features in Gemini require providing data to train the models? OpenAI/Anthropic don't require this. Is there a workaround?
