    TLDR

    Andrew Curran posted that Anthropic has solved the Navier-Stokes equation, a Millennium Prize Problem, with the solution produced by Claude and now under expert review. He added a deadline by predicting the company will announce the result before its IPO. The post drew quotes and replies from other AI commentators, including expressions of interest, a skeptical GIF from L.A. Noire, and a chart showing low model performance on open math problems. The packet contains no first-party announcement from Anthropic or other corroboration.

    @AndrewCurran_It's fun to make predictions. Here's a new one: Anthropic has solved a Millennium Prize Problem. And I'll be even more specific. Claude has solved Navier–Stokes. It is out for expert review. And to give myself a hard deadline, they will announce it before the IPO.
    @scaling01i love predictions, but
    @_arohan_Oof this is amazing if real
    @zephyr_z9👀👀👀
    @andrewwhite01@AndrewCurran_ I've heard this prediction about GDM for 3 years now
    @nrehiew_I think if this is true, we would need to have some really really important questions
    @andrewho03The way people talk about tech company employees is so silly. “High MTS circles.” It’s like some kind of card game, “and now, watch as I summon my Level 8 Principal Engineer MTS and attack your ARR directly with TRIPLE LAYER LOOP TRANSFORMERS!!!”
    @teortaxesTexis Anthropic sandbagging with Fable 5.1? Mythos 5.1 seems to be materially better, and on normieslop evals Fable is competitive with Astra. But… come on. Astra is a breakthrough. Does the evil team have the *next* step change Wunderwaffe already?
    @kimmonismus.@AndrewCurran_ is one of the best sources and content creator here on X. So I take this serious. If Claude has actually solved the Navier–Stokes Millennium Problem, and the proof survives expert scrutiny, that would be one of the biggest moments in AI so far. A problem that has resisted generations of mathematicians would have been solved with AI. I’d want to know exactly how it happened: who had the central idea, how much guidance Claude needed, and whether the approach could work on other open problems. We wouldn’t suddenly have perfect weather forecasts. But we would have a concrete reason to reconsider how much original scientific work these systems can do. And it makes total sense to reveal this breakthrough, as Andrew said, short before Anthropics IPO. OpenAI has demonstrated with Astra what is currently possible. And despite all the recent criticism of Anthropic, Fable is undoubtedly also an outstanding model. Therefore, it fits perfectly into the acceleration program. Enjoy the ride friends. The takeoff just begun. And we barely started.
    @Hesamationthis rumor that Anthropic has solved a Millennium Prize Problem is getting very interesting. Terence Tao a few hours ago:
