OpenAI’s frontier models and Codex workflows are coming to Google Cloud

Google Cloud customers will be able to buy the models through Model Garden, with purchases transacted through Google Cloud Marketplace, OpenAI says. Enterprises with Google Cloud spending commitments will be able to use those commitments for the purchases. OpenAI also says its models will soon be available in Google Antigravity and the Gemini Agent. It describes the Model Garden integration as pairing its models with Google Cloud’s built-in access controls, centralized data governance and high-performance infrastructure.

In its announcement post, Google Cloud claims it is the only hyperscale cloud provider offering access to all three leading closed-source large language models alongside more than 200 other models on a unified enterprise platform. The post does not name the three models; OpenAI’s announcement places general availability in the coming weeks.

CNBC reports that the move puts OpenAI’s models on the three top cloud infrastructure providers. It says Amazon unveiled plans to host OpenAI models in April after Microsoft’s exclusive intellectual property license ended. OpenAI says Microsoft remains its primary cloud partner.
