KAIST hosts academic gathering to kick off preparations for South Korea's ICML 2026 conference
Story Overview
KAIST is using a compact July 6 gathering to warm up the Seoul research community ahead of ICML 2026, mixing Korean dishes, student posters, and bilingual talks under the KAIST@ICML banner while positioning itself as the conference's sole Diamond-level university sponsor.
Panels spotlight active research themes
Three discussions covered language-model reliability and safety, vision and multimodal agents, plus career advice for juniors, giving attendees direct access to panelists such as Sharon Li and Furong Huang before the main week begins.
Networking starts before opening day
The half-day program at a nearby venue folds registration, sponsor remarks, and social time into one afternoon, letting students and faculty build connections while the larger COEX event is still days away.
