    TLDR

Matt Parlmer, founder and CEO of General Fabrication Company developing advanced 3D printers and self-replicating factories, posted that AI capabilities could get chopped in half pretty straightforwardly. He said the fact this reduction has not occurred shows the industry is incredibly immature. The statement was shared as a quote from his account, where he has been making the point for some time.

@davemcclureRT @ShanuMathew93: Pretty cool - sankey diagram (power nerds know) for how $100 of AI capex flows Source: BNP* *Prior version said Bernste…
@NaveenGRaoIt's nice to see this broken down. A full 27.5% of CAPEX (not OPEX) goes into power and cooling. I had never actually considered this as part of the per token cost but it is significant.
