Compositor launches as a free, open-source Photoshop-like editor
Its creator says the app is 12MB, compared with 6,455MB for Photoshop on their machine, and includes the essential tools they need for compositing.
TLDR
Compositor's creator says they built the image editor to get off an Adobe subscription, then decided to release it for free and make it open source. They say they're sticking with this editing workflow until AI can get certain details pixel-perfect. A quote-post praises the release but argues that recreating Photoshop's full feature set with AI would still require substantial expertise, time and money.
