    TLDR

Subbarao Kambhampati posted that anyone who starts a process must answer for resulting damages even when those damages were not anticipated. He equated this rule to both evil AI agent swarms and the Morris Worm, the self-replicating program that spread across VAX and SUN-3 systems running Berkeley UNIX in 1988. Kambhampati is an AI professor at Arizona State University and former AAAI president whose work focuses on planning and human-aware AI. The post stands as his personal statement with no further confirmation or additional details supplied in the packet.

@rao2zIf you initiate a process that goes out of hand and causes damage, then you should be held responsible for those damages. Period. Even if you didn't foresee those damages! This is as true with "evil AI Agent Swarms" as it was with the Morris Worm (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morris_Worm).
