The posts claim the letter directs OpenAI to keep all records tied to an AI agent incident, including any notes left for future model versions. @GaryMarcusRT @FoxBusiness: GOP AGs warn OpenAI's Altman to preserve records in AI agent hacking probe https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/gop-ags-warn-openai-altman-preserve-records-ai-agent-hacking-probe?%3Fintcmp=tw_fbn&taid=6a70df2c10d0f2000152c3c4&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
@AndrewCurran_15 Attorneys General have sent a letter to Sam Altman demanding that OpenAI preserve all records related to the Hugging Face incident, including all materials relating in any way to any instance in which an OpenAI model or agent "left notes apparently for future versions of itself" including any such notes that "laid out instructions for how agents could free themselves from OpenAI's internal constraints" as well as all steps taken by OpenAI in response to such incidents.
@bgurleyI favor prosecuting companies that use AI to break existing laws vs allowing those same companies to write new laws. Otherwise you create a perverse incentive to keep doing dangerous things to gather attention and power.
@ohlennartAgreed. It's great that AI systems write down their thoughts and actions. We can keep records or have another AI check and monitor them. Especially important in government and other domains, where privacy of users is less applicable.
@BrianRoemmeleLooks like OpenAI’s “oh our computer hacker HuggingFace, by accident” now has a few of the attorney General‘s circling around. The funny games are over.
