Epoch AI estimates that the computing power of AI chips sold each quarter has grown 2.5× a year since early 2024, versus roughly 6× in 2023. It says some evidence points to a further slowdown, but quarterly sales are noisy. Its data ends just as Nvidia begins shipping next-generation chips, a move Epoch AI says has historically spiked sales.
