    @tszzlai is a bad candidate for a great filter; presumably any machines that could wipe out its creator species could also spread through the stars
    @kellerjordan0The Fermi paradox being fake instead of real should lower your pDoom from >99% to <80%. That is, it’s a bigger cause for celebration than the unaligned RSI nightmare is for consternation. Who’s gonna make the post informing 100,000,000 normies about the good news?
    @micsolanawould we not see evidence of a machine race billions of years more advanced than us as it mined the stars? maybe not, if it didn't want us to. but would they not see us? they want us all dead, but haven't catalogued the stars yet, and left a little sentry at each? seems dumb
    @eigenhectorThe retrocausal strong anthropic principle - we are in a universe where AI doom didn't happen because we are here and future us are connected to us here as we are connected to ourselves in our past.
