Announcement
Weaviate's blobHash keeps a hash instead of the full media the available reporting after vectorization
Weaviate says original assets stay in object storage, and comparing hashes avoids re-vectorizing unchanged content.
TLDR
Weaviate says developers can send images, audio or video for embedding as usual. After vectorization, its blobHash property type keeps a SHA-256 hash rather than the full the available reporting in the database. The vector and searchable representation remain in Weaviate, while the original asset stays in object storage. Weaviate says it compares hashes on updates and re-vectorizes only when content changes.
