Paper Club plans an AI safety discussion on formal verification and aircraft safety methods

Y Combinator says its Paper Club will focus on AI safety as a decades-old research field. Stanford professors Clark Barrett and Mykel Kochenderfer are set to discuss the OpenAI–Hugging Face incident, how formal verification can prove properties of code, adapting aircraft safety techniques to language models and whether AI needs its own NTSB.
