AI payment agents tested on cash shortfalls and duplicate requests in an Airwallex sandbox

A team says it used Airwallex’s Developer Lab API to test AI agents in two sandbox payment scenarios. Facing seven obligations and too little cash, one agent paid three, escalated a €9,000 legal bill to a CFO and deferred three. In the other test, an agent sent a replacement after a transfer failed, then checked the existing transfer when Airwallex refused a repeat request as a duplicate. The team says no real money moved and the tests were not production-ready.
