OpenAI says it is temporarily lifting the 5-hour usage limit for Codex and ChatGPT Work users on Plus, Business and Pro plans while it rolls out efficiency changes to GPT-5.6 Sol, according to an X post from Théo Sottiaux that was widely recirculated by Romain Huet. In that post, Sottiaux said the changes include inference optimizations, around 10% more usage from those savings, and a context-limit change to 372k for GPT-5.6 Sol, up from 272k for GPT-5.5.
