    TLDR

    Taylor Lorenz posted that AI-generated anti-AI content is spreading on r/AntiAI. She noted that users appear unaware they are boosting an AI-run account that earns from views and promotes AI tools. The post includes a screenshot of a Reddit thread. No independent confirmation of the account's operations appears in the packet, and the statement reflects Lorenz's observation of the visible posts.

    @TaylorLorenzThese AI generated anti-AI slop posts are now going viral on r/AntiAI. None of these people seem to realize that they're promoting an AI generated account monetizing through views and attention and shilling AI tools.
    @skdhI was offered money to scare you of AI. And I'm not the only one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPdmYMHrWKg
    @flowersslopi promised not to call anyone out publicly so im keeping names to myself, but dude if you knew how many people told me they got offered money to scare people about ai nobody i know in the ai space took it, but A LOT of normal influencers outside it did
    @mark_kSabine Hossenfelder (@skdh) says she was offered money to scare people about AI, and that she isn't the only one. This raises serious questions about AI doomer organizations and how they spend their money to influence public opinion. These organizations deserve far more scrutiny. Who funds them? Are they paying creators to push catastrophic AI scenarios? How much of the fear we see is sincere concern, and how much is the result of funded campaigns? If you're paying people to tell the public that AI will kill us, the public deserves to know who you are and what you're paying for.
    @WesRothFrau Hossenfelder herself steps in to shine some light on the secret money being paid to influencers to spread anti-AI fear these payouts are not disclosed, disguised as "grants" instead of sponsorships please help spread the word
    @brianchau57UPDATE: more creators are coming forward with AI Doom payment offers they received. @skdh, a science creator with almost 1.8M youtube subscribers, just released a video about how AI Doomers solicited her and her channel.
    @DrTechlashThank you, Sabrina, for sharing all these sources with your viewers (e.g., the WSJ article, the tweet about the recruitment from CAIS, FLI's grants, etc.). I have just one comment about the bothsidesism, as if the spending is equal (it's not, the doomers are way ahead on this front), and as if the reach/impact is the same (it's not, because fear sells). Doom videos are much more successful. They gather hundreds of millions of views (https://www.aipanic.news/p/what-10-studies-reveal-about-ai-panic). Basically, telling people AI is going to take your job, kill your dog, and ruin the planet, is much more compelling than telling people AI is going to create jobs, help with your dog's health, and improve the world.

    @juliarturcThis is totally happening.
    @klaursonIt’s becoming increasingly obvious that there is a well funded anti-Ai campaign going. That you for exposing it.
