@Dan_Jeffries1I've never regretted learning anything in my life. I've never looked back and though "I wish I learned less." Always more. More code. More computers. More about life and love and relationships. More about cooking. History. Art. Language. AI. If you think learning the thing you are learning is the only purpose to learning it, you're missing the point. Learning is about abstraction. Combination of novel ideas. Putting things together from different disciplines. Making cross domain associations. If you regret learning to code or anything else then you're not really using your mind effectively. Everything you learn feeds everything else. Everything you learn helps you build a foundation of strong thinking. As Siddhartha said, "I can think, I can wait, I can fast." And the other character laughs and says "what good is that?" Thinking is the core. Add the ability to wait for the right time and the ability to suffer through the hard times and nothing can stop you. Don't listen to anyone who tells you not to learn something or that some skill is out of date and useless. Learn sword making. Learn how to make hand pulled noodles. Learn to make beer and wine. Learn to sew. Machines can do all that. So what? The joy comes from the learning itself and everything you ever learn will always stay with you and enrich everything else you do in life.
