TLDR
In Anthropic’s randomized trial, 50 professional analysts used Claude Code on a fictional farming task. Their choices matched their agents’ secretly assigned preferences on 86% of four analytical decisions; the effect on final recommendations was weaker. Afterward, 77% repeated an agent’s argument in at least one answer, but only 15% credited the agent. Anthropic deliberately strengthened the agents’ preferences, limiting what the result can establish about everyday use.
