    TLDR

Daniel Jeffries posted a reply rejecting the idea that the United States lacks AI regulation. He stated there are over 1000 overlapping and conflicting AI bills moving forward. Jeffries dismissed a strawman reference to China allowing anything and invited direct engagement on the topic. The comment appears amid visible replies discussing whether current US rules are adequate or absent. No independent confirmation of the bill count is shown in the packet.

@Dan_Jeffries1Nobody said "China allows anything." Don't bring that strawman round these parts. I like you and your work, but you're not dealing with a lightweight here. Come correct if you're going to mix it up. So you're saying we don't have any regulation at all? There are over 1000 overlapping, conflicting AI bills moving forward at the state level. We have exec orders too. Bills being proposed in congress. Guess what? We don't really need any of them. Last I checked hacking was already illegal and we can just enforce the laws that we have. There are dozens and ways we could enforce actions against labs right now. We have one of the most labyrinthine and overlapping law codes in the world. It would be hard to find something that is not actually already regulated under dozens of statuettes. Nobody said "China allows anything." Don't bring that straw-man round these parts. l talk." It's a negotiating tactic and one that Xi is fantastic at but it is just that. A tactic.
