Eko’s 30 hours of open-ended exploration on a simulated island
Its creators say agents with island experience generally outperformed counterparts without it in tests involving four goals.
TLDR
The team behind Eko says it ran 13 of the coding agents for 30 hours each on a simulated island, instructing them to be curious but giving them no specific goal. The team reports that the agents built structures, invented sports and saved discoveries in text files. In later tests involving four possible goals, agents with island experience generally outperformed 13 otherwise identical agents without it, the team says.
