Lennart Heim Joins OpenAI Foundation to Lead AI Resources

Lennart Heim announced he has joined the OpenAI Foundation to lead its AI Resources effort. In his post he noted that AI capabilities are increasing rapidly and that society's ability to respond must scale at the same pace. He stated the same advances that create challenges also expand what AI can do to address them. Heim wrote that he chose the foundation over AI companies despite more lucrative offers because he judged his counterfactual impact would be smaller elsewhere.
