A post citing The Information says a Tencent-backed Chinese AI startup could release its first open-weight large language model as early as September 2026. The post describes a $1.42 billion company founded in February by Tsinghua professor Jifeng Dai. Its reported approach starts with an existing pretrained model, modifies its structure, then improves it through midtraining, posttraining and reinforcement learning.
