This is why I'm proud to work for @stripe. Perhaps one of the biggest plights of our era is a distinct lack of romanticism. Our souls yearn for something to believe in, something to sacrifice for ... But there are few positive Grand Narratives to channel our yearnings towards the Good. One manifestation of this broader problem is that art is suffering and we are surrounded by ugliness, despite unprecedented material prosperity. I am glad that the Stripe co founder is supporting art in these conditions. And I'm also enacting romanticism in my own life, by working for a company that aligns with my vision of the Good.
