Keynote 6 at our BigMAC workshop from @abursuc from @valeoai on Adapting Large Models for Autonomous Driving, showing how progress in this domain really matters and he starts off with the real-world impact that can be achieved: ~1M people die every year from traffic accidents.

He showed Franca, a fully open ssl backbone and DrivoR, a super simple DETR like model that leverages pretrained ViTa for autonomous driving. Interestingly, here DINOv3 is worse than Franca or DINOv2. Lastly, how pretrained models also help in all kinds of Lidar tasks.
