    TLDR

Patrick McKenzie posted on X that an increasingly common pattern in his workflows is creating a new folder with an inbox or unsorted subfolder, starting a Claude Code instance, and directing it to watch for changes, read incoming files, rename them, and organize into a directory structure. In a reply he added instructions for the instance to recap everything done to find FBAR data in fbar-data-sources.md for future use in 2026 and later tax years.

@patio11An increasingly common pattern in my boring-administrivia workflows is creating a new folder with an inbox/ or unsorted/ subfolder, starting a Claude Code instance, and telling it "Watch that for changes, read incoming files, rename and organize into a directory structure."
@David_KastenOne very odd thing about using agents in this current moment is that your trained reflex to avoid or grin-and-bear papercuts can be usefully reoriented to, "I would like the genie in my phone to solve this problem for me for the foreseeable future, please"
