A Cursor profile reportedly showed 1.5 trillion tokens used in 30 days

On October 7, a user claimed a public Cursor profile showed poteto using 1.5 trillion tokens over the preceding 30 days. They estimated $11 million in costs at an assumed $8 per million tokens, then speculated that a 90% discount from Anthropic would bring the cost to about $1.1 million. They compared a $13 million annual outlay with paying 26 staff-level engineers $500,000 each.
