SpaceX has just announced that they have entered into a $920 million per month agreement with Google to provide compute capacity, according to a new filing.

"On June 5, 2026, we entered into a Cloud Service Agreement with Google with respect to access to compute capacity. The customer has agreed to pay us $920 million per month from October 2026 through June 2029, with capacity ramping up through September at a reduced fee. The compute capacity provided includes approximately 110,000 NVIDIA GPUs, CPUs, memory, and other related components.

After December 31, 2026, the agreement may be terminated by either party upon 90 days' notice. The customer will retain ownership of, and intellectual property rights in, its content, Al models, and related data."

you're telling me anthropic & google are paying spacex ~$26b a year for compute?!!

this is more than half the run rate of openai & anthropic just from compute deals & that doesn't even factor in the rocket launches at all.

elon accidentally ended up owning a significant portion of three of the scarcest assets in ai.. power, chips, & physical deployment capability. the best lesson here is that if you’re selling picks & shovels during a gold rush, you don’t necessarily need to find the gold. you just need everyone else to keep digging. & also non software elon is pretty much unstoppable, like prime michael jordan type thing.

Google is now paying SpaceX nearly $1 billion every month for compute.

Yes, Google is paying SpaceX for compute. They're that desperate.

This single deal is about the revenue of @CoreWeave to put it in perspective

@SpaceX is the largest neocloud & its AI cloud revenue at $26b run rate is actually at the level of Google Cloud & AWS already, catching up to Azure ($37b run rate)

SpaceX entered a cloud services agreement with Google for compute capacity, including ~110,000 NVIDIA GPUs, CPUs, memory, and related components.

$SPCX agreed to pay Google $920M per month from October 2026 through June 2029, with capacity ramping through September 2026.

If full access is not delivered by September 30, 2026, Google will apply a corresponding pro-rata reduction to the monthly fees.

The agreement can be terminated after December 31, 2026 with 90 days’ notice, while SpaceX retains ownership of its content, AI models, and related data.

Last year: people had to steal GPU’s from armored trucks.

This year: SpaceX is leasing to GPUs left, right, and center, because Xai couldn’t figure out what to do with them.

SpaceX just disclosed a new Cloud Service Agreement with Google.

Google to pay SpaceX $920 million a month (about $11B a year) for compute capacity at xAI data centers

Shows again AI compute is becoming a strategic commodity like launch capacity or energy, and the companies that can finance, power, cool, and operate giant GPU fleets may gain leverage far outside their original business.

If scale was “all you need”, Elon would be hoarding LLMs, not leasing them.

As I understand it, Anthropic is paying for Hoppers, and Google for Blackwells, so this is all fair. But what is interesting is that there was the cope: "ah we're just monetizing obsolete hardware… GORK 5 is Blackwell-only anyway". Seems like it was a "just the tip" moment.

wh@nrehiew_

Interesting to compare this with the SpaceX-Anthropic deal which is almost 2x cheaper

Google is paying $11.60/hour per GPU Anthropic is paying $5.26/hour per GPU

Anthropic previously committed to paying SpaceX $1.25B per month for GPU compute.

With the new Google cloud deal that was disclosed today, adding $920mil monthly, the two AI labs (Google + Anthropic) together are now collectively paying SpaceX $2.17B per month, a huge $26 billion annualized revenue run rate.

To note, Alphabet also has made a huge gain from backing SpaceX. Google invested about $900M in SpaceX in Jan-2015, for roughly 7%, when SpaceX’s valuation was around $12 B.

And SpaceX now targets a $1.75T IPO valuation. A reported 6.11% Google stake at 12-25 would be worth about $107B at $1.75T, while a diluted 5% stake would be worth about $87.5B .

Against a roughly $900M entry cost, that implies around 97x to 119x on paper, before taxes, lockups, dilution, or any discount investors apply after trading starts.

The business shift is also important: Alphabet first backed SpaceX in 2015, partly for satellite internet, but the upside now includes Starlink, launch dominance, and newly filed AI compute contracts.

@zephyr_z9 It’s a purely hype/fake deal, Google is a major investor in SpaceX. That’s why it has a 90 day notice cancellation window

Google wants to liquidate their SpaceX shares into a hyped up IPO.

Now do the math and figure out why they’d want to do a deal like this.
