@miramurati So all you have in one year billions later is a blog post
@miramurati YES! 1000% YES!
@miramurati wow beautiful writing!
The philosophy values localized ecosystem alignment over a single unified model.

@miramurati Beautiful!

What do we do at @thinkymachines: Personalization/sovereignty, Human Participation, Decentralization. Democratize AI and make it useful for people. All three of them reduce society's dependence on centralized AGI companies (including ours when we get important), and that is a future worth aiming for. You've seen a preview of this with Tinker, Interaction models and our research openly published on Connectionism. A **lot** more to come very very soon...
Free speech and free markets let new ideas, goods, and services emerge and compete, rather than averaging out the preferences that exist at a point in time…Humanity has flourished through individual weirdness and creative tension. We envision alignment as a feature not of a single model but of an ecosystem of AIs raised in different places, disagreeing, competing, and learning from each other. We believe in keeping the weirdness alive.
Today we share the worldview behind our mission. Human values don't average out. Local knowledge can't be centralized. The good future has many AIs, raised in different places, shaped by the people they serve, disagreeing with each other the way we do. https://thinkingmachines.ai/blog/the-future-worth-building-is-human/

@soumithchintala @thinkymachines what do you mean by sovereignty? no established definition of this word seems relevant to what you appear to be saying
