Today is my last day at @FortuneMagazine. Honestly, I'm feeling quite verklempt (look it up! 🥹).
When I started covering AI full time at @VentureBeat in April 2022, "generative AI" wasn't even a thing yet. What a roller coaster ride it's been ever since!
When @jeremyakahn brought me on as the second member of his AI team in March 2024 after being solo for years, I was so honored. He has been a steadfast support and champion every step of the way, as well as a brilliant editor who chatted me from across the pond at all hours.
I'm so proud of the work I did at Fortune — reporting on everything from frontier AI Labs to AI data centers to Capitol Hill, landing my first cover story, and working alongside an incredible team of writers, editors and video, social and events talent.
But I've always been drawn to building things — starting with the family newspaper I launched at age 11. Time to build again! I'm launching next week, so stay tuned.
The AI story is only getting bigger. I'm not getting off that train — just hopping onto another track!🚆
