Anthropic adds webcam verification to Claude Code
Anthropic updated Claude Code to request webcam access during prompts. The change verifies that a human user is present and blocks automated scripts from bypassing rate limits and usage policies. The feature now applies across Claude sessions. Developer and researcher discussions have followed posts that reference an image containing further implementation details in its alt text.
insane that they would do this. they're going way too far
To prevent "programmatic use", Claude Code may now request webcam access to assure user is present when prompting
Apparently claude code is asking for microphone permissions to check if there is a breathing human in the area, just in case you set up a python script to use it overnight... they're going way too far
