Cristian Garcia from Google DeepMind proposes every hospital patient should get a dedicated AI instance running 24/7 to assist doctors and catch overlooked information
Idea surfaced in talks about automating healthcare coordination roles.
There is a whole job in the health care system whose job is to transfer information from one place to another. Recently had to deal with a scheduling coordinator. It turns out there are regular coordinators and more advanced coordinators. Regular coordinator dropped vital information, the advanced one did better. This feels automatable.
hospital patients should have an instance of deep think 24/7, aggregating results in real time, helping the doctors and nurses, doing everything it can to save their lives. how many patients die just because someone in the system is too busy or forgot something? we can do better the fact that electricity might be able to help save your life is fantastic, we need to make this the bare minimum requirement
who is working on this?

also, hospital should not be legally allowed to use AI as an excuse to hire less doctors
