Joshua Saxe Announces AI Cybersecurity Observatory Non-Profit

Machine learning engineer Joshua Saxe posted that he and colleagues from AI grantmaking organizations, AI labs, national security policy and cyber fields are forming an AI Cybersecurity Observatory non-profit. The group plans to deliver continuous forecasting and epidemiology on AI automated cyberattacks to policymakers and cyber defenders. Saxe stated no such organization currently exists and policy relies on weak signals. Saxe stated the group has soft commitments of funding pending finding a founder to lead the organization and recruit its staff. The post linked a form for expressing interest in the role and included a cartoon illustration.
