@aiLatham & Watkins, the 2nd largest US law firm, is buying Nvidia hardware to fine-tune open weights in-house. Open weights + proprietary data + local compute = enterprise sovereign AI stack.
@beffjezosSo many companies I know are doing this. This is why the Token Cartel wanted to ban open source, ban distillation, and ban selling GPUs to foreign open source labs.
@__tinygrad__Love to see it. If you are a business with over 50 people, you should have your AI running on premise on boxes you control. Otherwise it's not aligned to you, it's aligned to extract from you.
@mattparlmerExpect lots more of this sort of inhousing as time goes on and knowhow about running models proliferates, we may not see the second age of the company mainframe but we will certainly see people reach for company brain infrastructure that they can actually control
@AustenThe only way this makes sense is if the companies that were serving them their various models wanted to charge an outrageous amount and customize nothing
@vikhyatkthis trend is only going to accelerate. when AI plays a crucial role in your business operations, it’s irresponsible to not have control over it
