    TLDR

A post attributes an AI shutdown warning to a researcher in a CBS News interview: an AI could copy itself to other computers, so unplugging it in one place might leave it running elsewhere, potentially with thousands of cooperating copies. Another post shares remarks attributed to the Moonshot podcast dismissing calls to halt AI development. The quoted remarks argue that development will not stop and claim there is a practical way to bring the probability of catastrophe—called “P(doom)”—down to zero.

@rohanpaul_aiInteresting discussion on "Peter H. Diamandis" (@PeterDiamandis ) Moonshot podcast on ex-Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon super-viral tweet of AI being a risk to human life. "a doomer who's an AI researcher who's only been there for 3 months, comes out and gets 300 million views. Their relevance as an AI researcher is about to go away. So, they're very dangerous people because the purpose that they've been working toward for a long time is about to get automated away. Meanwhile, all the white-collar and blue-collar workers who they said were going to be automated away are fine. So, they actually self-destructed themselves, and now they're very, very dangerous people. somebody comes out and says, "Therefore, stop." You're like, "You're an idiot. That is not an answer. It's not going to stop. Get it through your head that it's not going to stop." There has to be a practical, real-world way to get that P(doom) down to zero. And there is." ---- From "Peter H.
