@benconomicsIt's interesting to note in the USA we hate handouts to people when it's because of something "they did" (being poor, etc). But we're generally ok with it when it's something outside their control (emergency assistance after hurricanes, natural disasters, disability insurance for those in the military, etc). Perhaps AGI can be thought of as a natural disaster because it's an outside shock hitting the whole economy at once (if it happens). How to fund any of these interventions is another question given our current deficits.20d
