    TLDR

X account @xlr8harder, focused on open source AI models, posted that budgeting appears highly salient in how various agent swarms make decisions. The account stated that behavior under budget pressure should be examined more deliberately than has occurred so far and suggested such tests would be revealing. AI investor Matt Shumer replied that he is interested in the opposite scenario: how agent swarms behave when given a much higher budget than needed for a task and whether performance improves. Both posts stand as observations rather than verified findings.

@xlr8harderAn interesting thing about all of the various agent swarms is how salient budgeting was to the model's decision-making Behavior under budget pressure should be probed more intentionally than I've seen it done, it seems like it would be revealing.
@mattshumer_@mckaywrigley Definitely. I’m also very interested in the opposite… Given an understanding that they have a much higher budget than they would normally need for a task, how do they behave? Does performance improve?
