He stated the difference comes from cultural views on grindset mindset rather than competitive pressure. Brundage added that Anthropic has sped things up more in recent years. OpenAI researcher Leo Gao replied that he has always felt at home at OpenAI because his tendency to let work consume his entire life matches the environment there.
