A 20-year forecast for AI replacing human software engineers

A user predicts humans will work as software engineers for another 20 years, saying demand appears stable or rising despite changes to the job. They say even the narrower goal of AI autonomously handling maintenance, SRE, security and product-manager-defined features could take that long; they aren't asking AI to set product direction. They expect social parts of the role to be hard to automate and human-machine teams to outperform machine-only teams for a while.
