Nous Research added Codex runtime integration to Hermes Agent. The update lets the tool execution backend switch to Codex for OpenAI models. Requests route through the Codex CLI app-server and activate with one toggle. It replaces text responses with code execution, file handling, and command operations inside agent sessions. The integration uses Codex sandbox, plugins, and shell tools without separate API keys or token charges, drawing instead from an existing ChatGPT subscription and remaining optional for developers.
