Mora launches an AI data analyst that runs verifiable SQL queries and integrates with Claude and Cursor via MCP

The platform also builds functional dashboards from plain-English queries.

Most "chat with your data" tools are still black boxes. You ask a question, you get a number, and you have no real way to know whether the model invented it.

Mora goes the other direction. It maps the question to a semantic layer, runs SQL against your actual schema, and puts the query and the underlying rows right there in the panel. You can verify every number yourself, or fix the join if it got it wrong.

Add an MCP layer so the same engine runs inside Claude and Cursor, and this stops looking like another AI demo and starts looking like governed self-serve that data teams might actually trust. Worth a look if you are tired of being the bottleneck for every revenue question.

This is not the first tool to promise AI-backed analytics.

I've tried a ton, some better than others, but most suffer from hallucinations.

There are 3 things these guys are doing that I like:

1. Showing you the SQL they ran to give you the results. Assuming you can read SQL, you can verify you are getting the correct result.

2. The speed is pretty nuts. Getting instant results regardless of how many rows you need to retrieve is cool.

3. MCP lets you run this everywhere, which opens a ton of use cases.

We'll see how this plays out.

When I worked at Microsoft in the 2000s I used its business intelligence tools to answer questions, so I could blog about them like these.

Damn, I wish I had this back then.

Every AI analytics tool asks you to just trust the number.

Mora shows you the SQL it wrote against your own schema, so you can verify every answer yourself.

Ask a hard revenue question in plain English. Get a verified breakdown in seconds. Then tell it to build the dashboard.

This is the way.

Discrete over probabilistic. Probabilistic inference should only be used at edges and in sand box.

Anything committed to swarm should be fully deterministic including known failure modes and remedies.

Swarm should be entropically bounded to pass truth.

No fabrication. No trust us.

@kimmonismus wait, does mora show the actual SQL it runs? that would solve the trust issue immediately

@Scobleizer Humanity is gratefully happy for such gift! Getting a prompt response within 3 seconds with hardcore question is a Miracle ⚽️

@Scobleizer used to verify the logic, not just feed you a number

makes all the difference when something feels off.

@Scobleizer transparency over black box answers this is the real shift in analytics
