Do people want general intelligence or not?
One poster asks whether people want general intelligence; another jokes about researchers modeling consciousness at a DH conference.
TLDR
A poster asks people to make up their minds about whether they want general intelligence. Quoting that comment, another jokes, “Just don’t send compute to humanities-adjacent researchers,” and says they and others were “yolo at modeling consciousness” at a DH conference.
