The AI bubble and fears of a growing backlash

One AI researcher says hostility toward AI appears to be spreading among artists, programmers, mathematicians and people affected by it in business. After a year spent seeing only AI peers, coworkers and a close friend, they say they've been living in a bubble. They worry their occupation is becoming the most hated and describe an obligation to make AI work, with a hoped-for outcome of a “permanent upperclass for everyone.”
