Anthropic's Jack Clark to give October 16 IMF Per Jacobsson Foundation lecture on AI progress

Andrew Curran says Anthropic's Jack Clark is set to give the IMF Per Jacobsson Foundation lecture on October 16, titled “Inside the Event Horizon: Why Everyone Should Take AI Progress Seriously.” Curran quotes Clark saying he will argue that advancing AI capabilities are bringing a period of “massive, sudden change.” Curran adds his own view that we're already inside the “event horizon,” placing the turning point in either November 2025 or February 2026, depending on how you look at it.
