OpenAI confirmed a technical issue on June 5 that suspended some user accounts in error, with full restoration of access and related billing fixes completed by early evening the same day according to the company's status page.
The public timeline shows the problem moved from investigation to resolution in under three hours, yet no information emerged on the specific trigger or how many accounts were hit.
Vaibhav Srivastav's note thanked internal ops staff but offered no further clarity on whether similar glitches could recur or how affected subscriptions were ultimately made whole.
Positive users thank OpenAI for quickly restoring accounts after incorrect suspensions, while negative users complain that many issues remain unresolved with lingering downgrades and delays.
Most affected accounts should now be restored, including subscriptions - plus a sweet little surprise :)

@reach_vb you have the issue with billing page, any promo with $0 payment won't work, it will give error. so free account applying promo is going thru the billing which rejects it, same goes for Plus which is offered at $0.
