Dots Form Emergent Patterns in Friend-Enemy Simulation
A simulation posted on X shows dots moving toward friends and away from enemies.
TLDR
Isaac King posted a simulation on X in which each dot picks one friend and one enemy at random. Every step the dots drift 0.5 percent toward the center of the floor, take a large step toward their friend, and a small step away from their enemy, with friend-enemy pairs re-chosen at random intervals. Pete Skomoroch and Danielle Fong shared the post. lumpenspace wrote that "uuuuh this is the best abm model I saw in a while and perfect for my programming language (coming out next week I’m finishing the course rn)." David Pfau quoted the same post with the remark "Members of technical staff at AI companies in San Francisco switching jobs."
